Hi,

On Wednesday afternoon 1 to 4 PM, someone tried to steal a car on Valley Brook.  They had removed the plastic from the steering column and were attempting to force the ignition.

When the owner took the vehicle to be fixed, the repair person estimated that five more minutes and they would have had the car started.

Unfortunately, the owner had not locked his doors, but was home and had made a few trips into the yard.  He believes it was on one of these trips that scared off the individual(s).

This is a reminder that although we live in a fairly low crime area, it is always important to lock doors, vehicle and house.  Also, if you happen to have any information regarding this incident, please let me know.
