Durham Highway FD is once again inviting our served communities to come and enjoy our Holiday Open House on December 8th from 7PM to 9 PM This year Durham Highway FD is not only a collection point for the Toys for Tots, we are also taking donations of various household items to be sent to a two soldiers from our fire district. One is Johnathan, who is currently stationed in the Middle East and the other, is his Girlfriend Dani (Danielle) stationed in a remote outpost in Afghanistan. The conditions these warriors live in day to day are beyond what most of us could comprehend. Having some basic items such as those listed below can make a significant impact on their level of comfort. We are asking all of our district residents to take a look at the list and see if you can find it in your heart to purchase a few of these inexpensive items and drop them off at the fire station, (we will have a large Rubbermaid tote at the front door of the station) for our first care package to Johnathan and Dani to be sent towards the end of December. In addition to these physical items, we are also asking that you enclose just a brief personal note. We do plan to send a care package every few months. The items that can make a big difference in the quality of life for Johnathan or Dani.
