Springdale Residents Yesterday afternoon in the height of the storm's craziness, one of our fire trucks was returning from a call traveling on Ray Rd when it was rear ended. The roads were slick and the truck was slowing down with red lights on to investigate a number of cars that slid off the road. The driver noticed a car following closely, saw her slide to the left, then disappear to the right, striking the back of our firetruck. Fortunately neither the crew on duty nor the driver were injured in the accident. But both the truck and the car sustained substantial damage. We know everyone is tired of hearing about things being slink and unsafe, but PLEASE think about keeping your new drivers inside and off the roads on days like this. We would hate to have been a part of the death of a child... Mike Greenham Firefighter Durham Highway FD
