Hello fellow Springdale residents!

Last year, my son Noah King and I organized a furniture drive to help Housing for New Hope as part of a Leesville Middle School civics project. The furniture drive was a huge success, and our entire family learned a valuable lesson; IT DOESN'T TAKE MUCH EFFORT TO MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE! Therefore, we want to organize another drive this year for the same charity.

Housing for New Hope is a charity in Durham that is one of those really good and honest organizations that is working hard to truly help the homeless population of Durham. They go to where the homeless are to try to help them get off the streets and start a new life. They help to rehabilitate those who need it, and they strive to help displaced families procure safe housing. They rely heavily on donations from people like us! This year, we are asking for residents to consider donating furniture that could be used to furnish a starter home for a family. Couches, chairs, tables, bed frames and gently-used mattresses are all welcomed. This year, in addition to furniture, we would also like to ask for the following items if you can spare them:
Blankets
Bedding (sheets and blankets)
Rain ponchos
New socks
Walmart gift cards
Grocery store gift cards
Brand New Pillows
Large hoodie sweatshirts
Diapers and wipes any sizes (we are always in need)
Laundry detergent
Feminine hygiene products
Bus passes
Reading glasses
Cleaning supplies
Shampoo and conditioner
Tooth brushes and toothpaste
Winter coat for male or female or kids
Microwave
Crock pot
Pots and pans
Dishes set
Flatware
Towels and wash cloths
Bed frames, twin
Backpacks
School supplies
First aid supplies

Your donation is tax-deductible and so very appreciated. This time of year, many people are getting ready for Christmas and may need to clear out some of their old things to make way for their new things.
