Hello,

Just wanted to make everyone aware that a couple of our neighbors had a bit of a frightening night on Friday.

The neighbors reported a teenage white male with red hair attempted to break into a house on O'Neal.  When he was unsuccessful, he went across the street and broke 3 panes of glass on a French door trying to gain access to another house.  Because the sheriff was already responding to the first house, they were able to apprehend the suspect.

As always, please be cautious and ensure doors are locked.  Also, if you find yourself in a similar situation, please don't hesitate to call 911 and be sure to provide the dispatcher with as much detail as possible.  Information such as whether the disturbance is currently happening, or happened in the past, should affect how quickly they respond.

Tomorrow I will be contacting the Wake County Sheriff's crime prevention officer and will pass along any helpful information I find out.
