Dear Neighbors, I want to thank all of those who attended our Annual Homeowners' Meeting. In the four years that I have been President, I think that is the largest turnout that I have witnessed. We had a lot of good discussion and I would like to point out a few of those. First, during the Architectural Committee report, clarification was made concerning the proposed development of 8615 O'Neal Rd. Many people are concerned that this property is being subdivided which would violate our covenants. What is actually happening is that the smaller lot beside 8615 was also purchased with the intent of moving the lot lines to create two similar size lots, thus avoiding subdivision. This does not in any way violate our covenants. This action has been given due process by our Architectural Committee and approved. Furthermore, the developer of these two lots agreed to abide by our covenants and will submit plans for the houses to be built in accordance with the covenants and with approval of our Architectural Committee. I want to thank Don Mullins, Travis Crane and Paul MacDougal for serving on this committee and working diligently to resolve this with a positive outcome for all. Second, it was election time. Our current Vice-President, Andrew Wilkinson, was elected as President. I want to thank Andrew for taking on this responsibility. Andrew is fully capable of stepping into this role and handling the tasks asked of him. Also, our Secretary position has been vacant for several months. I am happy to announce that Karen Rice has agreed to fill that role. Karen is also very active in our Garden Club and will be a great asset to the Board. Unfortunately, we are still in search of a Treasurer. Victoria Blum has done an excellent job as our current Treasurer, however, her term is over and she is ready to pass the torch. If you feel that this position is of interest to you, please send an email to info@springdaleestates.org to inquire into the role or volunteer. Because Andrew has vacated the VP spot, this also opens up another opportunity to serve on the Board. Anyone interested in the VP position, please send an email to info@springdaleestates.org as well. Third, a great report was given concerning the Lake from Monife Balogun and Van Cotter. Van has been taking samples and testing our lake every two weeks (yeah, every two weeks!) to make sure it is healthy for the wildlife that it supports. Thank you to Monife and Van for keeping the lake areas clean and enjoyable for all. Lastly, I would like to sincerely thank all of those who have helped me during my term. With a neighborhood containing over 300 homes, it is amazing how many people it takes to maintain Springdale. I want to personally thank Paul MacDougal who works hard behind the scenes to manage email and the website on behalf of the HOA, He also serves on the Architectural Committee, Garden Club, Directory, and is responsible for sending the mass emails to everyone. We need more Paul Macs! Please support your new Board members. Respectfully, Paul Nani
