Recently there was a rash of break-ins in the Westwind neighborhood (near Westgate, Fairbanks, Pinecrest).  Several car windows were smashed and items taken from the cars.   Apparently it was communicated to these folks that this has been happening all over the county and they generally target "nicer" neighborhoods.

Please be sure car and house doors are locked at night and be sure any valuables (bags, electronics, wallets, etc.) are removed from your vehicles.

It may also be helpful to keep exterior lights on.
