Neighborhood warning:
We live in the Baybridge Subdivison.  Last night (Mon. night) our doorbell was rung at 2 am.  When my husband answered it, there was no one there.  He saw a car drive off down the street.  A few minutes later we saw a pickup truck parked on the street with headlights on facing our house - about 25 yards down from our house.  After a couple minutes it circled our street and left.  We feel sure that this was someone scouting for homes to rob while people where away for the Thanksgiving holiday.  We believe our house appeared empty as we had left a delivery of three large boxes of tile on our front step that were too heavy for me to lift. They most likely assumed that since they had not been brought in on a rainy day that we were not home.  
We believe that when they saw the boxes had been brought in, they realized we were home. (They had also torn into one of the boxes)  If you will be traveling you may want to take extra care to make sure your house looks occupied.
