Breakin Attempt Last night, around 3am, someone tried to break into 8652 Valley Brook Drive. The home has a security system and the security firm called the resident (who was out of town). They then called Wake County Sherrif. The resident phoned a neighbor who met the deputy and they did a perimeter walk of the house. One door had been kicked several times and the door knob had been broken off. While this was going on, a pickup truck drove down Valley Brook and seeing the sherrif car, turned into the neighbors driveway (acting like he was coming home?). The Deputy went to confront the man, who backed out of the driveway and roared away. The deputy gave chase, but lost him. The suspect was a white male, around 35 years old with short brown hair. He was driving a dark Dodge Dakota (pre 2005) with cardboard covering the license plate. This is not the same pickup truck seen in the Baybridge incident on Monday night. The take away here is to be vigilent of your surroundings, make your home look occupied if you are away, and if you see anything suspicious, call 911. Wood chips FREE Wood Chips @ 8648 Valley Brook Dr. Help yourself to the wood chip piles in front of 8648 Valley Brook Drive. We had trees removed recently and we do not need all of the chips we kept from that project. We have a very large pile of tree chips, and a few smaller piles of more finely processed stump grindings. If you would like to take any, please just head over at your convenience to load your truck, trunk or trailer. A quick call or email as a heads up that you are coming would be nice but is not a necessity. If you need help shoveling, let us know and we'll set up a time to work with you! You are welcome to share this email with friends or family outside of the neighborhood. Greg and Jane Gress Directory again Email is a one way communication most of the time. I send out 400+ emails and don't really know how many get received. It occurs to me that the same thing happens from your end. You send me an OK, but you have no idea if I received it. I have updated the lot infomation pages on the website (http://www.springdaleestates.org/9.html) with some new fields: SEA dues paid 2014: {Yes, No} Lets you know if you have paid your 2014 SEA dues. 2014 Directory entry: {OK, pending, no response} If your Directory entry is "OK" then everything is OK. If your Directory entry is "no response", then we have not heard from you and will be trying to contact you by phone. If your Directory entry is "pending" and you have not been communicating with me recently, we will be trying to contact you by phone. The phone contact is to get you to read your email #355, verify the attached listing, and send us an OK. You can save us the effort by reading your email #355, verifying your listing, and sending us an OK. Verified emails: {0,1,2,...} This field tells you how many "verified" email addresses I have for your lot. Verified means you have sent me an email from that address in the past month or so. Some of you have replied from email addresses other than the on I use for distribution. That does not count. A goal of mine is to verify an address for as many residents as possible. If you see 0, please send an email from your account to info@springdaleestates.org saying you are getting these messages.
