Last month several residents of Springdale received a letter from a developer who has submitted plans to the City of Raleigh to extend The Reserve at Grayson off of Ray Road. The main street into the subdivision is Wapello Lane. The development is 5.83 acres and the proposal is for 14 homes, each on about 1/4 acre lots. The development will be behind several homes toward the East end of Lakewood Drive. The case number assigned to the project is S-62-2014. Van Cotter and I have been trying to find out details about the proposal. One of the main concerns is storm run-off since there is a wetland area and stream within the 5.83 acres. With the current construction on Lakewood and both streams coming together on Valleybrook, there is a concern about the total impact the project will have once 90% of the trees are removed and replaced by inpervious surfaces. I have been told by a couple of residents of Springdale that there are residents who are following any development and possibly could be of assistance to us. If you would like to discuss this development further or have ideas on the best way to give input to the city or developer, please contact either Van Cotter at xxx@xxx.xxx or Lynn Smiley at xxx@xxx.xxx.
