Due to the threat of thunderstorms and the muddy banks, the Lakeside Presentation by Dr. Jim Rice scheduled for today (Sept. 28th) has been postponed.

Lakeside Presentation about the Fish and Ecology of our Big Lake by Dr. Jim Rice

Location:  On the Big Lake Dam, O'Neal Road
 
Dr. Jim Rice is the Extension Fisheries Specialist, Pond and Reservoir Management Specialist, at North Carolina State University.
 
Dr. Rice is one of those rare scientists who can connect basic ecological scientific understanding with practical considerations of how best to manage a pond (lake).
 
Children should enjoy it as there will be a show and tell about the fish and invertebrate creatures that live in our Lake
 
Anglers will find it very informative.  Do we want big bass or big bluegills?  Is catch and release our best policy?
 
Beverages will be served.
