Garden Club News ---------------- Garden Tour - Springdale Garden Club is planning a garden tour for April 30th in our neighborhood. We are looking for volunteers to be on the tour and are looking for all kinds of gardens - ones with a pretty flower bed or maybe a wonderful vegetable garden or even a chicken coop would be fun and educational. If you are interested in having your garden be part of the tour on Saturday, April 30th from 1 to 4 or if you know of a neighbor's garden that you would like to recommend or if you have questions, please contact the Garden Club at garden@springdaleestates.org Other Plans for April Tuesday, April 5th - Meeting will take place at the big lake dam with Mitch Woodward of the NCSU Cooperative Extension Service. He will give a presentation on riparian zones (the area between land and water) and good stewardship of them. The topic is highly relevant to our neighborhood given our lakes and streams and recent concerns on the impact of erosion from development activities on these. Also we will have a plant exchange before the presentation. Thursday, April 7th - NC Museum of Art, ART IN BLOOM Exhibit, please contact if you are interested in going. All neighbors are welcome to all events. Please email if you have any questions or would like to join us for any of the coming events at garden@springdaleestates.org Supper Club News ---------------- Attention Food Lovers! Our March Supper club was hosted by neighbors Sharon Waidler and Her wonderful husband Matt. 16 of us enjoyed a delicious meal of, everything from potato soup to Guinness dark chocolate cake. Sharon, president of the Garden club, also heads up the upcoming Easter egg hunt and continues to volunteer in this community setting up events that pique our interest and bring us all together. Thanks to Sharon for all you do! Volunteers are needed for supper club for April and September. Get to know your neighbors and have them over for a potluck. The usual number of attendees ranges from 12 - 16. I have heard from many that they do not have the space for a large sit down. All you need is a place to sit, some paper plates and the food is brought in. So rsvp for any of the last two weeks in April or September. Decide on the theme, cookout, Mexican, Italian etc and neighbors will do the rest. What a great way to join in the community. RSVP to this email and someone will contact you.
